Keith County Sheriff's Duties

The Keith County Sheriff's Office is Required by Law to Perform the Following Duties:
The Sheriff's Office covers 1,110 square miles, 797 miles of county roads, 120 miles of state highways and 42 miles of Federal Highway.
 
Handle calls and complaints at Lake McConaughy
 
Provide Police Services to Paxton and Brule, also serving the unincorporated towns of Sarben, Keystone, Lemoyne, and Roscoe.
 
Serve all Court Ordered Papers including Warrants, Body Attachments and other papers ordered by the Courts
 
Transport prisoners from anywhere they may be located, usually from surrounding states, escort them to court and provide court security for District and County Court
 
Do Out of State Title Inspections
 
VIN Inspections
 
Gun Permits
 
Maintain the Sex Offender Registry
 
Handle all County Sales, such as land and tax sales along with abandon vehicle sales, abandoned property
Distress Warrants for Personal Property Taxes
