The Veteran's Service Office is a county agency that assists veterans with federal, state, and county benefits once he/she has been discharged from active duty military service. The function of the office is to complete the application process for veterans and their dependents in obtaining the benefits that they might be entitled to receive. The office is under the direction of the Veterans Service Officer who is appointed by the County Veterans Service Committee. By Nebraska State statute, the appointment of the Service Officer is confirmed by the County Board of Commissioners.

- Advising and counseling veterans and their families in matters relating to benefits that he/she may be entitled.
- Knowledge and interpretation of current laws and codes pertaining to veteran's benefits.
- Assisting when applying for State and Federal Benefits.
- Emergency Financial Assistance.
- Veteran’s Advocacy.
